Free transit chart calculator

Enter your birth details and a date — today, by default. You get the sky on that date drawn around your natal chart, every transit aspect with its orb, and the house each planet is passing through.

Birth details

The rising sign moves about one degree every four minutes, so this matters more than anything else on the form.

Pick the closest town. A few kilometres makes no visible difference to the chart.

Transits for

The time is read in the birth place’s timezone. The Moon moves about half a degree an hour, so the time matters for Moon transits and barely at all for the rest.

What you get

A bi-wheel: your natal houses and planets in the middle, the transiting planets on the outer ring, and only the aspects between the two drawn across it. Under it, the transit aspects tightest first, and a table of where each transiting planet is — its sign and degree, and which of your natal houses it is in.

What we do not do yet

Interpretations, and dates of exactness. This page shows the sky on one date; it does not yet tell you when a transit was or will be exact, or what it is supposed to mean. The natal chart has a short reading; this page has the numbers.

Questions

What is a transit chart?
The sky on a chosen date laid over your birth chart. It shows the aspects the moving planets make to your natal planets — transiting Saturn square your Sun, transiting Jupiter on your Moon — and which of your natal houses each planet is passing through.
Which time should I enter for the transit date?
Any time on that day is fine for the slow planets. Mars moves about half a degree a day, the Sun one degree, and the Moon about thirteen — so the time only really changes the Moon’s transits. It is read in your birth place’s timezone.
Do I need my birth time?
Mostly not, with one exception. Transits to your slow planets barely depend on it, but without a birth time we place your Moon at noon, and it moves about half a degree an hour — so transits to your natal Moon can be several degrees out. The house each planet is transiting does need it: houses come from your rising degree, which moves one degree every four minutes.
Is anything saved?
No chart is stored. Your birth data and the date travel in the page address, so the page is rebuilt from it each time and we keep no copy — though the address itself can appear in ordinary server access logs, as the privacy page explains. The result page is not indexed and does not send its address to other sites.
